Reverse Cell Phone Lookup Free Service

by Herb Kohler

Can one really find access to a free reverse cell phone lookup on the internet? At one point or another, we have had our share of experiences wherein we find a site online that claims to offer so-called free services or products but in they end, we realize it's not really for free. Is the situation the same with cell phone lookups?

First, what is a phone number lookup? what do we really mean by this service? What we do basically in a "reverse lookup" service is to fish out the name of the owner and his or her address based on the entered residential phone number. This type of service can be very beneficial in many situations. For example, in the digital age when it is easy to delete a contact list information by accident, or if you have a number you want to verify before making assumptions and making wrong calls. There are many websites on the internet offering free reverse look-ups for residential, business including toll-free, phone numbers.

The downside about free online reverse lookups is that they may not be perfect. Do not be surprised to find no returned results from sites and directories for a cellular phone or unlisted numbers. Carriers and telecommunications companies also do not divulge fax numbers easily, so free online reverse lookup services do not have this in their results list in case you run a query. Do these information really exist, are they giving out access for free?

True, there are sites that allow free online reverse lookups. But their data is incomplete. They do not have complete list of numbers, cellular numbers, fax and unlisted numbers in their database. The reason why these reverse lookup services impose an access charge to their subscribers is because they are also being charged by the operators and carriers for access to their database and they also created a certain mechanism of compiling all of these information for their subscribers. There are different types of subscription fees offered by these service companies: some are one-time payments good for a minimum of one year allowing you to make as many look-up runs as you want. Another is a single lookup for a much lower charge. The cell owner details, address history, carrier information and status of the phone's connection are guaranteed by these reverse lookup companies.Depending on the company, the information they hold may slightly differ. The most common are cellphone numbers, residential phones, business phones, toll-free number and pager numbers. They also claim that your queries are guaranteed confidential and legal.

There are also other reverse lookups that cover more extensive personal information such as background checks and background reports, bankruptcies, liens, public records databases including births, deaths, marriages, divorces and adoptions, sex offender records, police records, among other information. None of these sites may differ greatly from each other in offering access to certain types of information for a fee, these specific information is not included in your cellphone lookup site membership access.
